Benefits of Grassfed
- Lower in fat and calories- meat from grass-fed animals is lower in total fat, because it is lower in fat than grain-fed animals, it is also lower in calories
- Extra source of Omega-3's- meat from grass-fed animals has 2-4 times more omega-3 fatty acids than grain-fed. A nearly ideal ratio of the occurance of Omega-3 to Omega-6 is present in grassfed animals.
- Blockbuster source of CLA-meat and dairy products from grassfed ruminants are the richest known source of another type of good fat called conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA. CLA may be one of our most potent defenses against cancer. (check out the Why Grassfed page for more info.)
- More Vitamin E-Vitamin E is linked with lower risk of heart disease and cancer. Meat from grassfed animals is higher in Vitamin E as compared to conventionally raised animals.
